Pastor Daniel Tanase Baptist Church Calafat

My name is Tanase Daniel, I was born in 1954 in Sieu - Bistrita in a baptist - christian family, I was the seventh born child of the family.
Although I receive a christian education in my family, because the atheism influence that was present in my school I wasn't certain of God's existance, thing that made me go away from home when I was in the 8-th grade at school somewhere far away from my parents so I will not be forced to go to church.  In this way I ended up to the Vocational school in Cluj at 120 km from home.
But in Cluj, in a short time, I realised that if I wasn't going to church sunday, all the week I have no peace so I had to go to church to reinstall the peace in my soul.
In that period (1973) came in Cluj a christian brother that has studied theology at Oxford - England named Iosif Ton, person which had great influence over the youth in the church.  Through his behaviour and through his sermons I was convinced that the bible is true.
After I graduated from the Vocational school in Cluj I found a job at Bistrita, closer to my home town.
In Bistrita I was baptised and also a member of the church. In the period 1974, one of my brothers died when he was 17 years old; this situation determined me to ask myself if there is life after death, being moved of my brother's death. This thing made me look for arguments of the existance of life after death.  After the research I made, I was convinced that there realy is life after death.
     This situation made me:
     1) Have a profound and real life together with God
     2) Not being afraid of death.
After a couple of years I have graduated from the hyschool in Bistrita and God guided and in the same time compelled me to study to the University in Craiova although I didn't want to go in that region.

In Craiova there was a smaller church, the pastor was asking me to help him in the ministry and also to preach the word of God, but I was avoiding this duties telling him that I wasn't prepared although I Knew that God knew all about me and I knew that what I was doing wasn't right because I was capable to study 6 days a week for school and I wasn't capable of preparing for God's day.  This thing happend until when I had to take an exam, after at the written test I failed before taking the next test of the day I prayed to God and I said that if He would help me pass that exam I will not ever refuse to help with the church ministry and also the preacher.  God helped me to pass the exam and ever since I have used all my time and ability to help the ministry in Craiova and the sorounding churches of Craiova.

In this way I was ready, because after the revolution wich took place in 1989, to start a ministry in Calafat.   In the begining I was going once a week to Calafat by train until the Knowle church brother came and they offerd their help, then I gave up my job in Craiova and I moved in Calafat where I live in the present time helping the ministry in Calafat and the soroundings.

I am thankfull to God that He guided me in my life and I am glad that I was able to listen to his desire.

Pastor George Spatarelu Baptist Church Filiasi

My name is Spatarelu George, born in Salcia, Mehedinti, on the 21st of January 1968. I am the third child of Spatarelu family (Emil and Maria)
I grew up in this village until the age of 16, when after finishing 10 classes I went to a training school for auto mechanics and then got a job as a auto repairman. My older sister came to know Christ and after a while she revealed her decision to me and also spoke to me about God's
Salvation and His plan for the mankind. I understood that I am included in God's plan and on the 13th of September I was baptized. After finishing my military services I returned to the auto mechanic job I had. In 1990 I got a transfer to another workshop and there God used me in the missionary work of a church there. I understood His calling and there I continued studies in order to get my high school degree.

After finishing high school I enrolled in The Baptist Bible Institute of Bucharest On the 2nd July 1995 I got married with Maria Fratostiteanu and after two years of marriage God blessed us with a daughter, Cristiana-Emanuela, born on the 25th September In 1997 I graduated from the Institute and was ordained as pastor in Bethany Baptist Church in Bucharest, responsible with mission, but I was praying to the Lord to be able to come and work for Him in Oltenia, the region where I was born, so in 1999 I came to Filiasi. At this time I am enrolled in the masters courses of "Central Baptist Theological Seminary"-Minneapolis, SUA-Arad-Romania
With respect and gratitude,
George Spatarelu.
